As more and more of us enjoy the convenience of having our files sent over the internet through Global Access at just $5 a gigabyte, we have run into a conundrum about clients not picking up or wanting us to return their original film.  All those unclaimed reels are taking up much needed space that we need to serve you more efficiently. Along with this, we were previously only able to store your digital files on our server for 2 weeks.  But now with our new 320 terabyte server, we can store them as long as you need us to!

While we have always advocated that you should keep your film original incase anything does happens to your digital file, we recognize that not all clients feel that way.  While film is the only proven archival medium (and we have so much  amazing footage from the past that has now being rescanned to higher resolutions), we understand that things change and clients are perfectly happy with only having their digital files. With Pro8mm’s new expanded server storage capacity to 320 terabytes, we can keep your files longer, along with giving you the option to have us store your physical film or recycle it. 

Here is the program: 

We will offer you free storage of your film, files, or equipment the first 30 days after your job is completed.  If you want us to hold your stuff longer than 30 days you will have the option to purchase a 6 month, 12 month or 24 month contract. You can purchase the contract in advance so you don’t have to worry about remembering to do this at the end of the 30 days.  This is a particularly interesting idea for clients who do not live in LA but know that they will be able to pick up their film the next time they are in town.  Please note that we will not call or email you if you have not bought a contract and your stuff is at Pro8mm for more than 30 days. Your items will be recycled and no longer available to you.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but our goal is to serve all clients as efficiently as we can and not have an unmanageable number of unclaimed items.  

For those who HAVE purchased a contract we will call or email you one time when you are at the end of your contract before we recycle your items to see if you want to extend your contract or  have your items shipped.  We will recycle your items if there is no client response.

PRICING

Physical Film Prepaid Storage/ any film format:  2 cents per foot. $8.00 minimum charge per contract available as a  6 month, 12 month or 24 month contract.

Digital File Storage/any size: 10 cents per gig.  $8.00 minimum charge per contract available as a 6 month , 12 month or 24 month contract.

Equipment  $10.00 per month of storage for any equipment, broken or fixed whether it has been paid for or not.
