Pro8mm 2K, 4K and 5K Has Arrived!
Pro8mm Announces their purchase on a Data Scan Station Scanner
2K, 4K and 5K scanning has arrived! Pro8mm is excited to announce the installation of their new data scanner which will allow for maximum amounts of raw information to be transferred to digital in 2K, 4K or 5K resolutions. Click Here for a Sample in 2K Data on the new Scanner
This is a completely different approach to the way that their current business model and scanners operate. Instead of being a full-service telecine system, the new scanner will output as a data scan (or log scan), a workflow that is becoming more and more desirable for modern film users who want more control over post production. Color and exposure correction, framing and stabilization will not be done in the transfer, but rather by the end user. Pro8mm owner Phil Vigeant says, “we want to be involved in this new way of doing business because it offers a completely new flavor to the way film is scanned to digital. While some clients will want to stick with the traditional way of doing things, others will love having the control themselves in post production.”
Pro8mm will continue to offer its Basic Y-Front Ursa Diamond Standard Definition scans, Professional HD and Theatrical 2K scans with full service post production on the Millennium II scanner, in addition to its new offerings.
With the new scanner Pro8mm can now service 2K, 4K and 5K output, log scanning, 35mm film scanning, Ultra 16mm support, full format over scanning and so much more. Direct encoding in ProRes to 2K, 4K and 5K will be available for easier workflow and high speed direct encoding for faster turn around on DPX projects.
